Dynamic Contect Sorting

I have a Collection that I added a Date Field to (labeled date added). I had planned to use this field to sort on in a descending direction so the last item added to the collection would show first on the page. The page is limited to showing 4 items on a row with the Load More Button showing if there are more that 4 items. This works fine when only the first 4 items are shown but if I click on the more items button the next row that is shown has the same items as the 1st row.
If I do not use the date field as a sort field and leave the sort column set to default the items display correctly when the Load More Button is clicked. Am I missing something or is this a bug ? Is there another way to accomplish this ?
Joomla 6.1.1, SP Page Builder 6.6.1
