Missing "Insert Hyperlink Functionality" After The Latest Update

Hi I am using Joomla 6.1.2 and SP Pagebuilder 6.8.0.

A user on one of my websites complained today that she cannot insert hyperlinks like she used to do it. Usually, she would have a table with a contact person's name, email and telephone number. She would highlight the telephone number and click on the "hyperlink" button and change it to "tel:000-000-0000" and the email address to "mailto:[email protected]".

I showed her that she can click on </> to enter it manually with HTML code: <a href:="tel:000-000-0000">000-000-0000</a>. I fixed a few for her, but she is complaining bitterly about it. As we all know, there is always some resistance to change, and she is no different in that respect.

I was working in an accordion menu where you can have a text block. The standard JCE editor is selected in the Global Configuration.

Will we see some changes back to what it was in future updates?

Regards,

J. Francois Barnard

Hi Atick

I tested it again now and I can see the link icon again. I do not know where it was before, but it is there now! :-)

Regards,

Francois

Hello J. Francois,

I apologize for the inconvenience.

I have checked your website, and from my end, the hyperlinks appear to be working as expected. However, it is possible that I may be missing the specific issue you are referring to.

Could you please share a screenshot or a short screen recording showing the exact part where you are experiencing the issue? This will help us better understand the behavior and investigate it further.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Best regards

Dear Atick

Thank you for your reply. I think you misunderstood my question. Yes, of course the hyperlinks on my website work, because they were create before the last SP Pagebuilder update.

We used to highlight text and chose the link icon on the editor to create a hyperlink. The editor has not changed. Since the last SP Pagebuilder update to 6.8.0 which I installed last week (August 14), the icon for the hyperlink is gone.

I usually create the hyperlinks in the HTML-code (<a href="/...">text</a>, so it does not bother me. But I have other users updating the website, and they immediately told me that something has changed. The only change before they edited the last time was the SP Pagebuilder upgrade to 6.8.0. Nothing else has changed.

Can you check for me if there was such a change on your side and if you will be able to put it back with the next update?

Thank you!

Francois

Hello Francois,

Thank you for the clarification, and I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Just to make sure I fully understand the issue, could you please clarify what you mean by the “hyperlink button/icon”? Are you referring to the link/hyperlink button in the JCE Editor toolbar that appears when editing the text?

If possible, could you also share a screenshot showing the area where the button used to appear? This would help us identify exactly which editor or functionality you are referring to and investigate the issue accordingly.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Best regards
