Articles Thumb Slider Addon Compatibility With Helix Ultimate

Hello, I am using SP Page Builder and I am interested in the addon Articles Thumb Slider, which comes bundled with the Newsberg template. My question is: can this addon also be used with the base template Helix Ultimate, or is it restricted exclusively to Newsberg? If possible, what would be the recommended way to integrate it into Helix Ultimate?
