The client has informed me that their website has suddenly stopped working properly. The homepage is now displayed in a vertical layout, and the slider is no longer visible.

Thank you for reporting this. We checked your site and found the cause.
The core Joomla jQuery file /media/vendor/jquery/js/jquery.min.js on your server is empty (0 bytes). Because jQuery never loads, every script that depends on it stops working: SP Page Builder (slider, carousel, parallax, animations), the template's main.js and the cookie consent plugin. That is why the homepage shows in a vertical layout and the slider is missing. The browser console shows "jQuery is not defined" errors. This is not a bug in SP Page Builder. A Joomla core file on the server was emptied, most likely by an interrupted update, the disk running out of space, or a security or cleanup tool.
To fix it, use either option:
media/vendor/jquery/js/jquery.min.js from it and upload it over the empty file via FTP or your hosting file manager.Then clear the Joomla cache (System → Clear Cache) and your browser cache, and reload the homepage. The layout and slider should come back.
We also recommend checking your hosting disk quota and server logs to see why the file was emptied. If other files turn up empty, the "Reinstall Joomla core files" option covers all of them.
