Two Possibly Related Template Problems

Template 4 years ago

I am using Helix Ultimate 2. I have a page that is only visible to logged in admin users. When I try to view the page using the Helix Ultimate template for some reason there is NO horizontal navigation bar to be able to scroll to the side. I am really puzzled about this.

So, I decided to try to use the default Joomla 4 template for this one page and found that it can't be displayed. It gives an error message:

Failed opening required '/mnt/data/vhosts/casite-1357284.cloudaccess.net/httpdocs/plugins/system/helixultimate/overrides' (include_path='.:/opt/alt/php80/usr/share/pear:/opt/alt/php80/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php')

Anyhow, I am not sure if these two problems are related.

I am using software called RSForm! Pro to make a form submissions directory that only shows for logged in administrators.

I am trying to ask two questions here

  1. Why might the bottom scroll bar be missing?
  2. Why can I not use the default Joomla template?

Hi there,

Thanks for contacting us. Sorry for the inconvenience. Will you please capture a screencast video of the full scenario and share it with me. Besides, share your site administrator access to check the issue. I will check & get back to you soon.

-Thanks

Thank you. I had already shared a site administrator access as hidden data. Hopefully you can look that up. I submitted it before creating this request. I will submit it again now. I will go try to figure out what to use to send you the screencast. I have not done that before. More on that shortly.

Hopefully this is easier to tell the difference from the user, password, etc.

I have tested the access which I provided and both the Joomla administrator and the ftp access are working as provided. I hope that somebody can look at this problem soon and determine if there is anything that Joomshaper needs to fix.

Thank you, Sean Carney

Please roll back your PHP version 8 to 7 and let me know the update. Thanks

Thank you very much. I have rolled back the PHP version and the scroll bar being missing is NOT fixed yet.

The PHP version now is 7.4.23

I also noticed that you apparently changed the Submissions menu to use the default Joomla template. That did not provide the same error message as I reported before with the references to Helix. But, instead, that link now just does not do anything.

I hope my rolling back the PHP will be a benefit to you for troubleshooting purposes.

Hi there, I have added this css code inside the custom.css file.

.sb-cs main#sp-component {
    display: flex;
    justify-content: center;
}

@media screen and (max-width: 900px) and (min-width: 320px) {
.sb-cs main#sp-component {
    display: flex;
    justify-content: flex-start;
    overflow-y: scroll;
}
}

Please check and let me know.

-Thanks

Thank you very much,

I notice that the horizontal scroll bar is still missing. Unless I am missing something. Were you able to see the horizontal scroll bar appear?

Also, I wonder if this 'fix' is temporary and if the template will eventually be modified to ensure that the horizontal scroll bar is available?

If you login to the front end of my site using your administrator account you will be able to see the RSForms! Pro registration submissions if you are using the Helix Ultimate 2 template. But, if you change to the Joomla four supplied template there will be nothing displayed.

I tried to use the other template in hopes that I could get the horizontal scroll bar that way. But, instead there is still something wrong that is preventing that page from even displaying.

To reproduce:

  1. Login to the front end at https://healthreboot.com/login with your administrator account.
  2. View the page that becomes available to you at https://healthreboot.com/submissions

This page will display if the Helix Ultimate 2 template is asssigned to the page, but it will still be missing the horizontal scroll bar. This page will not display if you use the default Joomla template: Cassiopeia - Default.

Thank you. That is very cool. I did not realize that. Unfortunately it is not working for laptops and small computer monitors which is what our people will be using to verify the event registrations.

I have many devices. The only one that works is the mobile phone.

I have some monitors that are 1920 wide. I have some monitors that are 1080 wide. I have a monitor that is 3080 wide

I hope this is helpful. Have you tried looking at the page after logging in from the front end using a desktop with your administrator account?

You should be able to see the problem pretty quickly.

Thanks, Sean

BTW, This problem only exists in the front end of the template. If I access the forms now in the backend (https://healthreboot.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_rsform&view=submissions&formId=3) then I am able to see scroll both up and down and left to right on the Submissions page.

It is only on the front end (https://healthreboot.com/submissions) that I am unable to scroll left to right. So, I will be able to work around this issue and access the submissions data.

Yes. It is working. Wow. Relief. Just in time. :-)

Thank you very much!!!

BTW, did you do this by correcting the template or by modifyiing the custom.css file? I am hoping that we can remove any custom.css entries if possible.

OK. Thanks. What you did makes it so that my assistants can now access the form from the front end so I am grateful. However, just for your knowledge the actual horizontal scroll that should be naturally working with the browsers is still not working. Instead you have added a horizontal scroll into the template.

I find that interesting but don't want to spend any more time on this since what you did is certainly a workable solution. OTOH, I also want to make you aware of this in case there is something about the Helix Ultimate 2 Framework that is responsible for removing the horizontal scroll bar from the various web browsers.
