I have a Joomla 3.10.3 site with SP Page builder 3.8. If I run the pre-update check for Joomla 4 - its states that ther is no compatible version of SP Pagebuilder for Joomla 4 - shouldn't there be a Joomla 4 ready tag in SP page builder ??

Hello Ronny Buelund

SP Page Builder component is fully compatible with Joomla 4. You are getting the warning for SP Page Builder Module. But it will not be an issue. Please ignore the warning and upgrade to Joomla 4.

Best regards

I CAN read that SP pagebuilder is compatible with Joomla 4, but I believe there is a very good reason for the Joomla pre-update checker! It is making people confused, when developers do not add the correct tags in the manifest files - so please do that. One gets a lot of warnings, not only from modules ! See image:

Hi Ronny,

I agree with you it may be confusing, I will ask our developer to check what we can do with it. I think it's something small.

BTW Are you sure that current version of Joomla 4.x is so stable and bug free that you are ready to upgrade? I hope you remember how long it took to fix all bugs, issues in Joomla 3.x core.

I understand your concern. These plugins and modules are not using separate database. Rather they are using database from the component. This is the reason Joomla does not find the database in these xml files and throws this warning. It is a general procedure of checking the extensions which is fine. In our case, our component is designed differently. You do not need to worry about it. You can upgrade and use the component without any compatibility issue.

Well I am not worried, but am am worried that less experienced users will not be able to understand this. I am not planning on upgrading just yet - I am just alerting you about this problem.

I think I can add short info inside SPPB documenation, maybe some people would read it.

Thanks
