Instagram On Joomla Site

SP Page Builder 4 years ago

Hi, I am very unsuccessfully trying to add my instagram to my joomla website. I have just purchased the sp page builder pro and installed to try to resolve this. I had sp page builder before but decided to update it as it was included with the template i purchased a year or so ago and needed updating. I am having no luck at all. I have followed the documentation to do this. My instagram is now a business account and my facebook page ( i think ) is linked to it. I have created the app on developer and have copied and pasted the codes in on sp settings, but it just goes back to app id filled in but app secret blank and no token button appears. My instagram and fb page are linked Any help would be appreciated Thank you in advance Lee

Hello Lee Foster

Please follow this document to set up a Business Account on Instagram and use In Development Mode rather than the Live Mode because it takes more time for approval.

Best regards

Business Verification Status Verified We've successfully confirmed your business details. Thank you for helping increase transparency between businesses and people on Facebook.

All that is done but it just does the same thing. It is in development mode.

Do you have to switch to live mode once verified so it works

I'm not being funny but following the document exactly how it shows and doing it all and it doesn't work, there must be information missing in the document. Copying the app id and app secret just goes back to blank after inserting and clicking next.

Hi there, I had a nightmare getting it to work too. Did you follow these steps: create app - more options - something else - name app - put in your email - connect to your business manager account - robot check - Select facebook login - select www web - url of your site - add app id and secret into sp page builder options area generate access token

Where I went wrong was trying to add the instagram api instagram basic display, which don't seem to be needed. It will work in development, but if you want it to be live then the app needs to have all the facebook rigmarole done and approved.

Hi Wild Bear Thank you for your answer. I have done all of the above exactly as you say. I also put in the Valid OAuth Redirect URIs as instructed in the document. What my issue seems to be is, no matter how I do it , When I put the Facebook App Id and Facebook App Secret in SP Page Builder configuration, When i click on next they just go back to blank and nothing happens. I have tried putting them in and clicking save first rather than next and that also makes them go blank. Am I missing filling in anything on the app maybe? Many Thanks Lee

Hi Wild Bear No popup appears. Is this on the apps page or on joomla when i put the codes in? It doesn't appear on any of them. I've also just checked my google chrome settings and popups are allowed.

Cheers again Lee

p.s. When I click on show secret code on apps that has a pop up box to verify facebook passwork to enable secret code to show.

Also when you say to add website in facebook login settings i pressume you mean "Valid OAuth Redirect URIs" if so, does this need to have www. mysite or without www

When you put in the app ID and app secret into the SP page builder options a facebook login popup should appear so facebook app can link into the SP page builder addon. In the Valid OAuth redirect of the facebook app you need to have the sppagebuilder access.token url. It also needs to be a https site or facebook won't accept it. I put the url in twice, one with www and once without www just to cover both bases, I'm not sure if it's the correct way to do it, but I managed to get the thing to work after trial and error. Does this help?
