Many pages suddenly not Mobile Friendly anymore

Joomla 3.9.27
Shaper_empire template

Hi there,

Since the 28th of May 2021, Google Search Console is suddenly flagging up more and more pages that are not mobile-friendly inspite of the fact nothing has changed on the website. (All has worked for fine the for the past 2 years).

For example, https://www.document-genetics.co.uk/solutions/erp-enterprise-output-management-software looks a mishmash of logos and menus on the Google Search Console “Live Test” but works fine on mobile devices.

Although the pages do actually work fine on mobile devices, I am concerned this means that these pages will no longer be indexed by Google.

I have spent some time looking around Google’s help pages and they keep referring back to it being a problem with the template.

Any advide would be appreciated.

Regards
Steve

More about changes in robots.txt you can find in offcial Joomla Forum and on JCH Optimize support.

We have to divide what is Joomshaper support and what is not. I hope you understand our policy.

Steve - If I may share few thoughts:

  1. As you noticed Google changes rules, it does quite often, not always we see this. Every SEO expert can confirm this. Maybe sometimes it's worth to hire one for consulations.
  2. All pages/sites all indexed - sometimes even those which you don't want, so far nothing changed that.
  3. As you know, We are not Google Support to give you 100% exactly tips on what you have change.
  4. For sure you should use: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/

Thanks for your response.

To give you some background I have inherited this site so still finding my way around it.

Looking at the 'Page Loading Info', I see that some CSS and JS are blocked in my robots.txt file. - this could be the reason for the incorrect rendering because the directives to 'format' the page for small screens (ie the responsiveness) are in those CSS files.
