Mobile Menu Links Suddenly do Not Work Anymore

Hi,

since yesterday, the links in the mobile menu of my page do not work anymore. The hamburger icon opens the menu, but they are not "clickable" and if you click on them, the mobile (off-canvas) menu just disappears.

The only change I made to the site was updating to Helix Ultimate 2.1.3 (and SPPB to 5.7.0). The page runs on Joomla 5.3.2.

The error is not reproducable - on some devices it works, on some it doesn't.

Please advise.

Thanks, Ben

Hi Ben!

Thanks for reaching out.

Sorry for your experience.

You may try reinstalling the Helix Ultimate template by downloading a fresh copy and installing it again.

https://www.joomshaper.com/joomla-templates/helixultimate

Once done, clear both your Joomla and browser cache.

If it doesn't solve the issue for you, kindly share your admin access in the hidden content to check the issue for you

Best regards

Hi Ben,

Thanks for the access. I have just visited your site and offcanvas seems fine at my end. Please clear your browser cache or try a different browser or try incognito mode, then let me know.

Hi Rashida,

thanks for checking. Maybe I did not state this clearly in my first post: the problem seem to happen on mobile devices ONLY. But also there, it is not constantly reproducible - on some devices it works, on others it doesn't.

I could now also reproduce this issue on other websites I have updated with the latest Helix Ultimate version. But also there, it ONLY happens on my mobile phone.

On PC/Laptop, everything is fine.

Please advise.

Thanks, Ben

Hi,

You're welcome!

I have checked with my real mobile device also and it's looking good there too. I have shared video from browser inspect window though, as from phone I can not record right now.

Which browser you tried? I was suggesting to try from a fresh new browser too.

Besr regards,

Hi Rashida,

thanks for checking. As stated, the problem is not reproducible constantly - the problem occurs on my phone, but not on my client's personal phone. But my client is getting complaints from his customers that his website is not working ont heir mobile phone, so there definitely seems to be an issue.

Please advise.

Thans, Ben

Hm, it's tough to find out reason behind the issue which is not present at my end. However, are you using any server side caching? If yes, try to clear them and take report from your client with request to check with different browsers.

Hi Rashida,

I re-installed HElix Ultimate again, cleared all caches, switched off server-side caching in Joomla and cleared the browser cache on my mobile phone.

Now it works again on my phone, but the "close" button in the off-canvas menu shows a blue border rectangle (like a link). That has not been there before. Can that be removed somehow?

Thanks, Ben

Hi,

Actually I can't see any blue border there.

Please check the screenshot in the hidden content.

Hi Rashida,

please see the screenshot in the hidden content how it looks like on my iPhone (both in Safari and Chrome). There is a blue square around the closing "X" in the off-canvas menu. In the screenshot, it looks really strange because it is not even - I have no clue why it looks this way...

Please advise.

Thanks, Ben!!

Hi Ben,

Sorry for the delay and thanks for the details.

Got the issue. Added neccessary CSS in your custom CSS field. Please check now by clearing your browser cache and let me know if it's okay now.

Hi Rashida,

thanks for checking in - it all looks good now, and my client has not reported any futher errors with the mobile menu from his customers. Let's hope the issue is gone now.

Nevertheless, as just an hour ago a new ticket has been opened describing the same issues I had with the off-canvas menu on mobile devices after updating to Helix Ultimate 2.1.3, I am keeping my other websites on 2.1.2 for now...

The other ticket: https://www.joomshaper.com/forum/question/40399

I still feel that this is an issue with 2.1.3 which has not been fixed on your end. Could kindly comment on that? Thanks!

Ben

Hi Ben,

As you have noticed this is not a constant issue. A very few issue reported. Moreover, we didn't find it at our end. Mostly solved while clearing caches.

And you know caching is a very common and annoying issue with websites. Most of the time nothing much to do with it. But I will try to forward it to see if there is anything we have to improve the situation.
