Menu items intermittently disappear on Helix

Hi,
Certain items in the main menu intermittently disappear, despite being published in both the Joomla menu and the template settings. Temporarily unpublishing and republishing the items, as well as clearing caches, resolves the issue.

  1. Is this phenomenon known?
  2. Are there any corrective measures or best practices to prevent it from recurring?

This is not a known issue, and based on your description, it is most likely related to caching or optimization rather than the menu itself.

Since unpublishing/republishing and clearing cache temporarily fixes it, we recommend checking the following:

  • Disable Joomla cache and test
  • Clear all caches (Joomla + browser)
  • Check Helix template settings for CSS/JS optimization or caching and disable them temporarily
  • If your server uses caching (LiteSpeed, Cloudflare, etc.), purge or disable it for testing

Also, please ensure:

  • Menu items are assigned correctly to the menu module
  • No access level or language settings are affecting visibility
