Hi, this question is about the Articles Addon. When I select to display the Creation date, it seems to display the Last modification date.

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing the URL.
I checked the page, but I couldn't determine from the frontend alone whether the Creation Date is actually displaying the Last Modified Date.
I do notice that two dates are being displayed. Is it possible that both Creation Date and Modified Date are enabled?

Could you please provide temporary Joomla administrator access? We'd like to verify the Articles addon settings and compare the displayed dates with the article's actual creation and modification dates.
Best regards,
Hi there,
Thanks for getting back to me. I will show you three images that will make this problem perfectly clear.
I've published them at the bottom of the screen. By the way, this site is still under construction, obviously.
Hello,
Thanks for the screenshots.
I tested the Articles addon in my local environment, and both the Creation Date and Modified Date are displaying correctly there.

Could you please let me know which template you are using? It is possible that the template contains an override for the Articles addon that is affecting the date output.
Would you please share temporary Joomla administrator access so I can check the issue directly on your site?
Best regards,
Hi there, please find credentials below. Thanks in advance.

Hi Hans,
Would you please share your administrative URL?
Thanks!
Please find below.
Hi,
Please check the screenshot in the hidden content box.
I'm really sorry. See below.
Thanks, but I still can't login!
Hi Rashida, thanks for keep trying. I just checked and it worked fine for me. But I guess you've overlooked the underscore in the middle of the username... See below. Good luck!
Oops, now I see what's going wrong. When I send the message, it removes the underscore.
See below.
There is no underscore found in your username.
Well I have tried with underscore again now with no success!
Ok, it says not secure, because this is a subdomain without ssl. You can just proceed in 'unsafe mode'. It's safe.
I'll keep waiting until you've tried it.
I'm getting this each time while trying to login:
Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.
Hold on Rashida. We're both doing our best, so this must succeed! Shouldn't be that hard :-)
I changed the credentials. See below.
Hi,
Thanks! I can log in now. Will let you know once I have anything to share...
Hello,
I did check the issue, but I haven't been able to identify the root cause yet. I can see that the dates are displayed correctly on the article details page, but not in the Articles list view.
Please allow me some more time to investigate this further.
Best regards,
Hi Rashida, thanks for your help. However, I do hope you find the solution soon. Perhaps you can check internally if this module works 100% correct. I know that there has been a recent release. And I figure you can test this aspect in a testing environment? Thanks in advance.
Kind regards, Hans
Hi there, I was wondering, can you please give me an update? Thanks in advance.
Kind regards, Hans
Hi there, can you please give me an update on this matter?
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards, Hans
Hi Hans,
Please accept my apologies.
I can't login anymore. Would you please give me a working credentials one more time?
As I shared earlier, I tested the Articles addon in my local environment, and both the Creation Date and Modified Date are displaying correctly there.
Best regards,
Hi Rashida,
Thanks for getting back to me. Please see login details below. You say: "As I shared earlier, I tested the Articles addon in my local environment, and both the Creation Date and Modified Date are displaying correctly there." Perhaps I've overlooked, but can't find this conclusion. I hope you find a way to solve this problem. Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Thanks for the revised access.
I have stated that in the very first reply that I have submitted here:

I am taking an Akeeba backup of your site to test on my local right now.
Best regards,
Hi Hans,
Thanks for your patience. I've found the cause.
The "Show Date" option in the Articles addon shows the article's Start Publishing date, not its Created date. On your site, the Start Publishing date of all articles is set to 29 July 2026, probably from the migration or a bulk update on that day. Many articles were also last modified that day, so both dates look the same. For example, "Ervaringen met Thuisbatterijen" was created on 17 June 2026, but its Start Publishing date is 29 July 2026.
To fix it, set each article's Start Publishing date (Articles > Edit > Publishing tab) to its Created date. With many articles, this can be done in one step with a database query (please take a backup first):
UPDATE #__content SET publish_up = created;
(Replace #__ with your table prefix.)
Let me know the outcome.
Best regards,
Hi Rashida,
Great work! Thanks for all your time andd effort you've put in. And your patience. And you fixed it!
I've already run the sql and that worked too.
So the conclusion must be: "Show date" shows the Start Publishing date (which in our case was the same as the last modification date due to the export/import tool). I think I must have gotten the wrong idea, because underneath the "Show date" option, there is an option setting the Create Date text. I'll leave it up to you wether you want this to clarify. But anyway, thanks a lot!
You are always welcome Hans:)
I will pass a note to my team about it.
