The bottom section of template design (from Quickstart) was built using 4 module positions (bottom1, bottom2, bottom3, bottom4) with two types of modules inside:

Footer area with copyright note ( "Designed by ....") was based on template settings feature.

And footer menu is based on the Menu module published on "footer2" module position.
