how could I change the look/style of the menu and footer to make it look like the demo version?

Hi,

just install Helix Ultimate template (FREE) and set as default template - then you will get similar header and footer.

Then later you can customize it.

Menu, Footer and Header are the part of your template. On our demo page, we have used Helix Ultimate template to make this layout. You need to edit in your template to achieve it. Sorry, we do not provide customization support.
