If I may...

For current SUPPORT we use custom extension, written by our developers, not for sale nor share.

Before in the past, we used a little bit customized EasyDiscuss extension. You can buy it and use for support forum. I know that some developers still use Kunena (FREE) or dedicated premium Ticket extensions. Or they use extra web software for this, not Joomla releated. It all depends on your budget and expectations.
