Hi,

Social Media icons are from Template Options - Basic - Social icons, you can disable there. Just remove all "#" or "links" from icons fields, so they will disapear. Check also set position of social icons, maybe "by mistake" you used position that is used on header row.

You forgot to tell us what template you have: Helix3, Helix Ultimate ??

About Header bg color.

If you created a custom header, you should be able to change bg color from Template Options - Layout - Row options - Style - Background Color.

OR

If this is a predefined header (chosen from the list), you have to use custom CSS:

#sp-header {background: black;}

Remeber to change color of menu items as well.

Hi. You have boxed layout which limits the width. And a menu that contains too many items to fit in one line with the logo. Therefore, it is shifted below.

I want the Menu text apear on a solid color background (i.e black)

To do this, there is a configuration of the header background. Due to the shift menu, it is outside the Header, as Header has a specific height of 80px.

Why the social icons show up at the top if the entire feature is disabled in the template settings ?

Create your own Header. This will solve all the problems. Find about it in Helix documentation.

I use Helix Ultimate template

Well I know I can create custom header. I trid this but for some reason I cannot achieve the result of having the solid color under the menu. Yes I watched the tutorials and looked up the DOCs.

This should be so simple but because sPB is not designed that way it is super confusing or simply bad. When I access MENY properties there should be a simply property called: MENY BACKGROUD COLOR, MENY BACKGROUD TYPE. Setting these two would allot turn ON/OFF transparency and set the background color for the Menu.

In the past I used ARTISTEER. It was 1 minute setup do this. With Helix the properties are scattered all over the setting menu and the site menu background is missing. why is it so ? This whole proecess supposed to help the visual template design but it is not really very well designed. Even a sinlge setting - I have to change it, close the pop-up window, click SAVE and see effect. This is so super annoying and time consuming. Why not to design the panel on the left and use AJAX for updates (like it is don in SPB) ?

I stated clearly that I changed the position for SOCIAL ICONS (to the bottom) and they show up at the top. When I turn it OFF completely it still shown at the top.

Paul - thanks for replying , but you really need to verify before you post something. The templated edit screen I see is completely different from what's on this video. I use HELIX ULTIMATE template, with Joomla4, so I do not know why this is so different. To be honest the way the editing this twmplate works (I mean floating interfacve, with super small tiny fonts) is really not what I woudl expect. What I see on the video looks much better, but thats is not what I get and how to get to this editing ? The video also does not show what version of the template is this (which is very unfortunate!).

Are you sure? I see template name here. I know it's for HU 1.1.x but in 2.0 it's still quite similar.

Anyway...

Maybe easier for all of us, will be to know: WHAT IS YOUR FINAL GOAL?

OK, Payul thank you for your insight. Finally I figured out what is causing the problem and this has been reported in another post. Avtually the problem is with Helix Ultimate template. IT simply does not position Social Icons and they remain at the top causing Menu shifted below. When those icons are completely disabled everything goes back to normal. If you check my other posts there is more details and screenshots.
