Edulif Index.php Url

Hello

I just installed quickstart package for Edulif template on my website. I enabled URL rewriting and renamed htaccess.txt to .htaccess.

.htaccess file is being read as I'm able to cause 500 error by editing it.

However, it's still not working properly as the quickstart template only is available on the site with /index.php suffix.

What to do? :-)

Hi,

  1. Do you have "index.html" file in root ? If yes, delete it. Then site should work without index.php.
  2. Update Joomla to current version 4.0.6
  3. htaccess file is from Joomla itself, sometimes some rules from it may causes problem on some servers. It should be edited with careful from FTP tool or File Manager from cPanel.

Joomla beginner?

Thank you. I'm sure I already had tried that, but somehow it's working now. Thanks for the quick reply and screenshot. Have a nice day.

I'm having the same problem and I did everything listed above, except update to joomla 4 because I cant at the moment. Why can't I get the index page that I want to use to load, it keeps going back to the original index file? Like I said I have done everything listed above.

Krista, this is Joomla general question this time. By deafult index.html is loaded by first, then index.php. If index.html (.htm) doesn't exist joomla index.php should be loaded as first one.

Make sure that .htaccess file is inside your server.
