Please go to Global Configuaration -> Articles, set "Voting" to "hide". Now clear your cache and check for the horizontal lines - if they still exist follow the below method to hide them with css.

Please add the following css rule in custom css section

.article-details .article-ratings-social-share {
    display: none;
}

I didn't see any 'voting' switch in Global Configuaration -> Articles, so I tried the other option. When I did that, it turned on 'social icons' for some reason, so that has to be turned off again. Just an FYI for anyone else trying to do the same thing. Thanks, for your help.
