Google Fonts From Own Server

Hello, some countries says the use of Google fonts is a breach of privacy. Is there on Joomshaper a tutorial to serve the Google fonts from your own server? That way there is no link to Google with IP and should be fine.

If there isn't a tutorial, maybe an idea to provide a clear tutorial how to do that using Helix or Page Builder. I think it can be most usefull and can save a lot of hassle when more countries forbid the use of Google fonts with links to the Google servers.

Kind regards,

Hi,

Deliver your required Google fonts from your own server. This is possible for most templates. To make your life easier, follow the instructions here: https://google-webfonts-helper.herokuapp.com/fonts

Still struggling with it, seems the fonts don't load as it should. Extracted the downloaded fonts in my template/fonts folder. Pasted the provided code in custom css but don't load. Is there a video somewhere to see it? Once seen it I understand it better how to do it. Also the font settings I don't quite understand how to use them this way. For example the Main menu. In pagebuilder I see only the standard fonts. I disabled google fonts in the template settings itself.

Well, this is great help. I noticed just as you said the chosen font is still not available in Page Builder but there is no need to select a font in Page Builder no more due the custom css file (created a custom.css file)

When using the builder the font does not show up, after save and closing the builder the font is correct.

Using element inspector I see my chosen and added font is used now.
