Thank's Ariba... I read all the relations texts you sent me very carefully but I really didn't understand what exaclty I have to do. I use two newsberg templates on online and local versions both installed with your full package method... The local works perfect but the online gets the specific error.

Are you serious? 5th week waiting for an answer??? I do think it's time to stop asking supporting questions because I feel like you're kidding me. Sorry but I will never go to renew my subscription for your products ... New products need support and your behavior is unacceptable!!!!

Hello Kostas Konstantinidis

Apology for the delay. I have checked your issue on your site. It seems like the issue is with Joomla core on your site. Please check a fresh Newsberg quickstart on your localhost or server. If you found the issue there, then we will help you in a short time.

Did you change anything? Say that because now I get the error Deprecated: Array and string offset access syntax with curly braces is deprecated in /home/pekkeux/public_html/.....

Hi Kostas,

A shot in the dark, but I'm guessing you've upgraded to J4?

If this is the case, there is a known issue with Joomla 4 and com_search relating to the new way in which events are dispatched.

Please see these threads on the Joomla forum: Post 1 Post 2

Hi Geraint, yes I migrated from 3.9 to J4 because I had some thousands of film critics from the previous site something that I certainly needed and could not be lost... I have read some decades of threads about this error but I didn't understant what exactly I had to do. And that was the point I asked for help on this issue Many thank's about your shot in the dark

Hi Kostas,

Can you try disabling the 'Search' module, and create and enable the 'Smart Search' module in the same position. This should fix your issue, I hope.

Sorry, I thought I'd posted that earlier, but forgot to in between helping my daughter with homework and lunch.

Hope it helps.

Geraint

Hi Geraint, I have already tried that.. but it also responses with dozens of errors. The weird is that the Newsberg template's default search model is based on the simple Search module. That's gonna make me crazy

Hi Kostas,

Oh, OK. Eek!

I'll take a look if you can post the error logs.

If you have a backup of your original data (J3.9.x), as an alternative, I might suggest that you:

  1. run the Quickstart in a subdomain of your site
  2. Manually install all of the updated 3rd party extensions that you require in your temp subdomain
  3. Export the database tables of the content that you know you need (i.e. the film critics - presumably com_content articles/categories? - and your menus etc.) and import into your new site. (naturally, update the table prefix and any fields that may have changed between version 3.9 & 4, in the SQL dump, before importing.)

I know it's not ideal, but without any access to the site or the logs, it is all I can think to suggest.

Hope it helps!

Gez

That all job was something I was afraid to do but without any other solution I rather have to pass this nightmare... I have just finished the quick pack newsberg installation on a test folder and my next step is to check file by file where is the difference. Many thank's Geraint. I appreciate it unimaginably

No problem at all!

Whilst I completely understand your frustration, I have a lot of empathy for developers who've had to do the same for so many of their existing extensions.

I was in the middle of developing a package of extensions incl. a component for Joomla 3, module and several plugins, when I had to halt the project. When I came to resume it, J4 had been released, and I realised it was senseless to continue. So, I upgraded all of the codebase for v4, and refactored a lot of the plugins to make it more modular. It was quite an arduous task.

Anyway, I wish you luck, and hope you get it sorted soon!

Geraint
