Sorry, I do not get your requirement. Page link will not work. Only image link can be used there.

i think you cant add link on the background image but in the button as show in this video.

There is no option to add another page link to the image. You can use a button to link to another page. You can follow Serigne Fallou's screencast.

For your purpose, you can use Image Carousel addon. Here, you can add external or internal link to the image.
