Template Not Compatible With RS Events Component

Again, I have an issue with your template creating some sort of conflict with one of my existing paid component extensions, this time its RS EVENTS Component. This functionality works on other templates but not yours, you can see this if you switch between the templates.

This is page where the online tickets are, on your template the drop down functionality does not work and it appears to show two drop down arrows, your template is called :shaper_helixultimate - Default

The other template that has the Ticket system functioning, is called : ja_university_t3 - Default This is an image of the proper functionality: https://communitymusicmatters.com/images/CMM_Events_Ticket.png

Done fixed, I used one custom line of CSS. Evidence foto_8655_2022.jpg

I am not sure if your webmaster or you noticed but your site loads Bootstrap twice!

  • Bootstrap v5.1.3 - from Helix Ultimate
  • Bootstrap v2.3.2 - from media/sourcecoast/css/sc_bootstrap.css ( from extra plugin I guess)

This is not recommended, very old and new version - can cause weird problems. Like putting old parts into a new car.

i think i turned off the bootstrap in source coast, this needs to be solved globally because many thing dont function lile search and filters etc. here is what the filter module lookslike on the demo site https://events.rsjoomla.com/list-events.html/?tp=1

that is not what i get here, https://www.communitymusicmatters.com/find-live-music

also load more events button doesn't work either

This error probably to the fact that the HU 2.0.x uses Bootstrap 5 in which there is no longer jQuery.

  1. Can you ask RSJoomla support for extra tips.
  2. Why your site is loading that mootools-core.js file is horrible old code, lots of problems. Maybe install extra plugin that will disable it. No it's not from our code, and no is not loaded by default by Joomla as well. So it must be called by extra module probably.

And in the meantime, I will ask my friend becuase he made a fix tooltip (that may work for you as well) few weeks ago for its own website.

I CHECKED ON THESE IN A DIFFERENT TEMPLATE AND THEY FUNCTION FINE!!! I sent the errors to JSEvents - All I know is that I instaslled your Templates and things were broken for SIX months with NO resolution and most things in this support relationship are not solved

Now I have more issues and what ever you haver done has make things worse, now the title of events are to the far right of the imaghe, still not Name filters etc, but it all works with a traditionall template

The Buttons/ links don't work here, when logged in to edit Admin details been asking my template provider but they re useless bootstrap? Hi Christopher. If you allow.

Each webmaster should understand what the site ecosystem is. And create a site based on this.

If you use extensions based on old technologies, you should use the old template supporting these technologies. This means that Helix Ultimate is simply not suitable for the ecosystem of your site, as it contains new technologies. The RSJoomla team should strive for new technologies for its extensions.

Now you demand from the JoomShaper team to take a step back. Instead of demanding from the RSJoomla team to take a step forward.

I am a user of some extensions from RSJoomla. But I had to refuse many others there, as they use outdated code. And they do not strive to update their extensions for years unfortunately. This is a great drawback for the developer team.

Looking at the code of your site, I saw that RS Events uses Bootstrap V2.3.2.

Helix uses Bootstrap v5. These are incompatible things that cause conflicts.

RSJoomla team should make their extensions compatible with Bootstrap V5.

Or you should use template based on Bootstrap V2.3.2 / Bootstrap V3 (with some CSS coding) / Bootstrap V4 (with significant CSS coding).

  1. Please note that RSEvents!Pro is being designed to work using what the Joomla! CMS supports by default (for Joomla! 3 this would be Bootstrap 2.3.2), however your template appears to load Bootstrap 5 and loading multiple different frameworks will always result in such inconsistencies.

Although the component provides an option to disable Bootstrap, leaving this handling by the template, if the template doesn't provide some compatibility declarations for the standard Joomla! Bootstrap framework, this will not help.

You can easily test if RSEvents!Pro works or not, by temporarily switching to a standard Joomla! template like Protostar and I'm fairly certain this will work since if you access the following direct URL that doesn't load your template, as you can see this is working:

https://communitymusicmatters.com/find-live-music/event/472-brent-butt?tmpl=system

In case you're using template overrides for RSEvents!Pro, have them temporarily removed while testing this.

Please directly contact your template developers on this matter to provide you with assistance.

  1. Our templates never overriden RSEvents.
  2. RSForms Pro also from RSJoomla allows user choose Bootstrap version from settings 2.x>5.x. And RSEvents no, they stopped inversting in that product for some reason. Maybe using different, more modern Events component allows you to be more open for near Joomla upgrades, otherwise you will stuck with J3.x.
  3. Protostar = welcome in 2013 when first time that template was presented in J3.0.0.

Did you get any response from RSJoomla support? Maybe only small "fix" is needed?
