Customize Blog.php In Helix 3

Hi, I'm using Helix 3. And I want to customize the override in html>com_content>category>blog.php.

But I think this customisation will be overwritten when I update Helix 3. Is there a way to avoid this? I understand that I can not rename the file because it won't work in Joomla anymore.

Hope to hear soon.

Regards, Hans

Hello

Thank you for your query. You are right. You can modify the file and save it for the future. Because with Helix update, as you know, it will be overridden again which cannot be avoided. Then you will have to just update it.

Hi Ariba,

Found a solution that will work for me. You can actually make an override and rename the files for the blog.php, blog-item.php etc too. And when you assign that to a menu item it works like a charm. Also, these files will not be overwritten. Read more about this here: https://www.itoctopus.com/how-to-a-have-a-different-category-blog-layout-for-a-specific-category-in-joomla

Cheers
