@Matt, if you do not have time - you can use almost any template and just install HikaShop, which is probably the most popular and useful e-commerce for all Joomla versions.
Of course there are others e-commerce component that works in Joomla 4.x ...
Yes, e-commerce template is planned, but probably for November.

I know any template can be used. The "issue" comes down the the client. We have a handful that use HikaShop. With the upgrade notification that now shows in the backend, they are earger to update but most look at the options available and ask for an ecommerce specific template.
In general they aren't happy they need to eat the costs of a tenplate change to upgrade so they have been a bit picky.
The PageBuilder ecommerce option looks promising. Hopefully we can hold some of them off until its release.
