Hello, unfortunately a problem arises on my website. Many any pages created by me are generated twice as URL. For example there is : .../das-etwas-andere-webstudio and then the same page appears again under: .../component/sppagebuilder/page/35 How can I prevent the links that contain "component/sppagebuilder" in the URL?

Hi. /component/... - this is a technical link. You cannot prevent it. But this is hidden from indexation in robots.txt by default. Therefore, do not worry

Ok, that sounds good. But it is not quite correct. In Screeming-frog it appears as follows:

.../component/sppagebuilder/page/35 .../component/sppagebuilder/page/35 text/html; charset=utf-8 200 OK Indexierbar 1ab82bef7e037b51e139461e418b35c6 60 .../component/sppagebuilder/page/35 .../component/sppagebuilder/page/32 .../component/sppagebuilder/page/32 text/html; charset=utf-8 200 OK Indexierbar 58a5e75cfa45895c7de3d0b5adda491f 60 .../component/sppagebuilder/page/32 .../component/sppagebuilder/page/33 .../component/sppagebuilder/page/33 text/html; charset=utf-8 200 OK Indexierbar 728d06db7161e56b573bd0267e89d3a9 60 .../component/sppagebuilder/page/33

And so many more links are displayed.

Through /component/... link you can access any page of any Joomla component, but not only to Spagebuilder pages. This is how Joomla and its components work.

Therefore /component/ is hidden from indexation in robots.txt by default.

If Screaming-Frog defines these links, this may mean that:

  • Screaming-Frog does not take into account robots.txt and is scanning backend links too
  • These links are somewhere in the front (user error - do not use such links, publish pages through the menu item only)
  • Bug of access to backend links. At least in SPPB 3, I have not met this. I have not checked this with SPPB 4, since I do not use it until all the main problems will be corrected.

I recommend downloading and checking your site through Xenu App. This will show all the links that are in the front-end and the pages on which they are located.

Great. Thank you. That helps me now, I will set the links differently. The problem will be solved. Thank you very much. I recommend downloading the Xenu app and checking your site with it. This will show all the links on the front end and the pages they are on.
