Auto Generation Of Thumbnails

Hi, I noticed that some templates seem to auto generate thumbnails and label them as "_small" or "_medium", etc. Yet on another of my sites, this is not happening. I cannot find which setting or extension I have to add/edit in order to generate thumbnails in the latter. Thanks

Accepted AnswerAnswering to myself. the content had been imported from an older version of joomla and the articles images were not added via the Blog Option but by Joomla's native Images and Links. Problem solved.
