SP Page Builder 1 year ago

I just updated the Page Builder to v4.0.5. In this version the backgroud image path is stored with /media/com_sppagebuilder/css/ and as a result it fails to load in the website.

This is not expected at all and a number of my website pages are broken!

on further checking if the production mode setting of sp is enabled this error occurs where it looks for the images in media folder. by disabling the production mode it look in the original images folder. the production mode is needed to combine the css.. can someone look at this bug please

Nasir,

I have forwarded the issue to the developer team. They will get a fix soon. However, this is only happening in your site.

Nagesh,

Please allow the developers some time. It looks like your issue is similar to Nasir's.

By turning off CSS compression, your issue is solved for now. We will improve it in the future releases.

The issue exists in v3 as well.

How does it works with Helix? There is a CSS and JS compresson option available in Helix. There is a production mode in Page builder. In PageBuilderv3 I am facing the issue if both CSS compress and Production mode is enabled. The issue goes away if either one is disabled.

what is the recommanded way to use these?

I and many others reported this at least two years ago. And this has not been fixed so far. There is a conflict between SPPB Production Mod and Helix CSS Compression. One of these options should be used, but not both together. This is the only thing that can be done in anticipation of correction. Or can be used third-party CSS Compression plugin like JCH Optimize

Thanks @Pavel. If the results are the same, then I may use only one. Do you know if there is any doc related to this?

Helix Js compression and SPPB Production does not cause any issue for me, is it same for you?

The results are not the same.

SPPB Production Mod simply moves the entire CSS code that you created using addons settings to a separate CSS file, deleting the code from <head> </head>. But it does not compress CSS.

If you need compression together with SPPB Production Mod is ON, use third -party extensions. This is the only way now.

JS Compression Ok for more cases but can cose promlems with accordeon addon and other bootstrap based js components.

In general, I do not find these options in Helix very useful. JCH Optimize gives a much better and noticeable effect.
