Joomla is Leaving Php 7

When is it possible to use PHP versions 8.x? In my case I want to switch over one of my customers site to the Edulif template but the Edulif template is built for 7.x PHP versions. The Joomla platform is warning about this and says ...

"Your PHP version, 7.4.30, is only receiving security fixes from the PHP project at this time. This means your PHP version will soon no longer be supported. We recommend planning to upgrade to a newer PHP version before it reaches end of support on 2022-11-28. Joomla will be faster and more secure if you upgrade to a newer PHP version. Please contact your host for upgrade instructions."

Is there any updates for this?

Any other recommendations ?

Hello lgcaratpgbuild

We are aware of this and make all our templates compatible with PHP 8 gradually. You can share your issue on PHP 8 with Edulif template. I will share it with the developer team.

Best regards
