Overwritten After The Update

I would like to make changes to the file components/com_sppagebuilder/assets/js/sp_carousel.js how do I make sure that it is not overwritten after the update?

Hi,

by default is not possible, the only idea I know by now is to change permission to that file, from 644 to 444. And during update that file will not be overriden.
