Hello Geoffrey Smith

This is the feature. The free course is available to everyone.

Best regards

Yes I understand that but users need to elect to take the free course and they need to be able to see the lessons. This functionality is not present.

Yes, this functionality is not designed. You can customize the component.

What do I need to do in order to be able to register/capture user details for free courses?

This is not missing functionality. We have not designed SP LMS with this functionality. We have kept free courses free from all bindings.

So, if you want to achieve this, you have to do it on your own. We do not provide customization support. You may hire a developer who can do this.

I tried to ask the chat twice if they could recommend a developer and they said no. Even if you did develop it, they would probbaly destroy the work on an update. It's really only good for listing school information. Use another event booking system to book classes.

I guess what I am looking for is an lms system that offers both paid and free options and also allows a course to be trickle fed ie; one lesson a day or a week, as well as all the usual lms functionality polls, questionaires, record keeping and certificates.

So any suggestions would be greatly recieved.

Happy New Year as well.

Since they don't offer any custom support and, even more odd, won't keep a list of developers who suppor ttheri product, the only option is to go outside. We use Evenbooking from joomdonation.com. It managed events (free or paid) and has ALOT more settings. When you see how much information is needed to set up even a biasic event, you'll understand why JS won't support it. It really needs to be a separate plugin. Eventbooking takes some getting used to since there are so many parameters and it may need some custom CSS depending on you template, but in the end it has way more flexibilty. Not an ideal solution, I know, but ultimately you're barking up the wrong tree here. They won't help. Happy New Year to you as well!

Guru from iJoomla is the best LMS component but a little bit expensive.
