I already contacted them and they told me it was coming from your template. The pagination is apparently overridden by the template.
Concerning the <<, it is not displayed because the previous class is missing in the element. By the way, there's a difference between the English which displays << and the French which displays "précédent". It's probably a question of different translation in the template, but it may also be related to the problem of the missing class in French... So it could be due to something in the PHP code that generates the pagination.
Note also I don't have the issue if I'm using the core template
