Problem Editing Pre-set Header In Travelin Blog

Template 1 year ago

It appears Travelin users face a common issue editing the pre-set text within Travelin's blog component. I followed the threads and edited the en-GB.tpl_travelin.ini, However, my changes do not appear on the live site. I am no coder, so if someone can walk me through the solution I would greatly appreciate it.

This is a great theme, but what a strange way to treat this module. The text doesn't even make sense...and it's difficult to change or remove. Very frustrating.

Yes, I saw that thread as well. I believe I have looked at 3 or 4 threads. I followed the instructions as I understood them, but the content did not change. I have never before encountered a situation where template content needed to be changed in such a complex manner.

Admin credentials below. Thanks in advance.

Hi there!

It seems your main menu is not published online. I can only find the landing page there.

Which page do you have those texts, please? There is no category blog page published online I found.

Rashida,

I included the page URL in my original request: https://ourcanyoncreek.com/news.

To reiterate my issue: I am unable to replace the gibberish text shown in your blog module.

To save needless back-and-forth: I thought I had edited the .ini as recommended in the threads, but the changes do not appear on the live site.

Hello,

Sorry for your issue and for the wrong path. It is within the original language file but not the one from template.

Here is the correct Path: /language/en-GB/en-GB.tpl_travelin.ini

I have just tried it from my local and it is working fine t my end. Here is a screenshot for your ease:

Hello,

I am still unable to locate the language ini file. Am I able to access this file from the Joomla admin dahboard? If so, can you walk me through where and how to find it?

Hi,

Sorry for the delayed response.

Actually, you need to access this path through your FTP, Not Joomla backend. Please have a look into my previous screenshots. I have shown the path there.

Best Regards

Hi Rashida,

While I was waiting for your response, I kept researching this issue on my own and found the lanuage override tool in the System dashboard. Why wouldn't I just create language overrides here instead of access the site via FTP?

More importantly: why would Joomshaper create a template that requires FTP access just to replace header text? If the intent was to hard code this text into the blog module, it should have at least been written in English.

Hi,

Apology again for the delay.

I meant to say, where you have uploaded the quickstart pack as unpacked. You might be able to access those files through your file manager there? Didn't you installed the quickstart pack in the root folder of your server?

And yes, you can use language override methos of Joomla either. Here is a screenshot:
