After Upgrade To Version 4 - Frontend Editing is Empty

Ahoi,

after upgrading my Page Builder to version 4, it is no longer possible to edit my pages via frontend editing. Backend editing is not possible in this version, I see. Live sites are all fine and everything is displayed as intended. It seems that while editing, div with id="sp-pagebuilder-container" is empty. Browser cache and jommla cache were deleted and multiple Browsers were tested. With no effect. Do I have to downgrade to version 3?

  • SP Page Builder: v 4.0.7
  • Joomla: v 3.10.11
  • PHP: v 8.0.27
  • Template: custom

Thanks in advance

It looks like this:

Please take a full site backup with Akeeba Backup in ZIP format and share here. Follow this tutorial

So is there an update on how to solve this problem or do I have to downgrade to version 3?

By testing on a local server I found out, that switching to another template will not actually produce this misbehaviour. Though I did not find out why becauce using a nearly empty template without any plugins (or similar) will not work. Nevertheless we will not switch to version 4 anyway because there is no longer a backend editing function. This is neccessary for external widgets because they are not showing up in frontend editing. So this post is just for information purposes, maybe it can help others.

Nonetheless thanks for your support.

Thanks for the update. The backend editor will be back soon. Hope to see you then.
