Slider Addon Height Issue

Fresh install from quickstart + sp page builder. Trying to set the slider addon to use custom height instead of window height (SLIDER GLOBAL OPTIONS). As soon as I set it to custom height the slider dissappears no matter what height I set it to. Am I doing something wrong or there are other settings I have overlooked?
