Simpe Portfolio - How To Make Use Of Own Thumbnail Image?

The thumbnail image seems to get ignored in any case - the entry of an existing image in the field "Thumbnail (Optional)" at the portfolio item page is wiped out when saving the item. The thumbnail shown is always the one generated from the main image.

Joomla 3.10.11, SPPB 3.8.9, SPSP 2.0.7
