Neutered Media Manager From Joomla

Unfortunately, the function of the new Joola Media Manager is severely castrated with this handling of the media, images, audios, videos, systems. The following functions that Joomla 4 actually brings with it are not available when using the media management via the SP Page Builder. Preview, Download, Edit and get link. Only renaming and deleting are available. Furthermore, folders are simply created with a created date. Creating your own folders within the structure, as intended by Joomla, is not possible with the media management of the SP Page Builder. It's been a long time to prepare for Joomla 4.

Perhaps by Joomla version 5 it would be possible to move closer to the core of Joomla and not try to reinvent the wheel when the core team and many volunteers have already participated in the development of Joomla 4.

I would be happy to provide a few screens again, even if this is very cumbersome.

Apart from the many subfolders that are created if you work on it for days or years, the SPB is definitely not a good solution. It is also difficult for the user to ever find something again if it is not sorted according to objects. Be it to edit or just exchange with the same name. The path changes with every upload.

But probably the only thing we are not familiar with is Joomla. Although we have known it since Mambo 1.0 and have also gone through various changes to Joomla 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 and 4. The system is simply bent here. Not to mention the language files, that's a completely different topic.

Please refer to my other entry with "Mo.. Ba.." I think a lot is still needed here before this SPB works reasonably Joomla-compliant. The many error messages here, also from other users, speak for themselves.

Hi Sebastian,

as you noticed Joomla 4 has good Media editor with Image options already. But still many users have Joomla 3.10 without that core feature. We planned implement (made sort of integration with J! Media) but we have to wait until more users will make CMS upgrade. So probably in August / September we can focus to improve SPPB Media.

About Lang files - indeed we have to create a new packages with help of community as it was done in the past.

Thanks 4 feedback
