Styling On Predefined Header Lost After Changing To Another Predefined Header

I selected a predefined header from the basic menu in the template. Made some css styling to space the items and it worked fine. I changed the header to another predefined layout and all the css do not work anymore.

Looks like the flexibility and feature of using different header layout may not be effective if we did any custom styling. Please advise.
