Avoid Pages To Get Indexed By Google (only Via Some Urls)

Hi there,

I am using SP Page Builder 3.8.7 on Joomla 4.2.8. Now we have realised that the pages are getting indexed by Google and this not via the link of the menu item (which would be correct and they are also indexed) but also with the url www.domain.de/page/5 (id of the page).

How can we prevent this since it is duplicate content for Google.

Kind regards Tanja Vogt

Hi Tanja,

  1. First you should update to SPPB 3.8.10, and Joomla 4.3.3 (security reasons!).
  2. Unfortunately, but we have no control over how and what Google indexes and what it does not. This is already required to talk to an SEO expert.
  3. Probably you have to add redirects to reduce this kind of "duplicates".
  4. Also check how links to Pages were used by you inside buttons, menu items and text. Maybe somewhere you added this kind of link that's why were indexed.
  5. Create a website sitemap .xml and send to google.
