Edit SP Simple Portfolio With SPPB

Hi,

I would like to edit my SP Simple Portfolio items with SPPB.

  1. Can pages only be edited in the Front End? I do not find a way to do it in the back end.
  2. I have created Portfolio items before I decided to edit them with SPPB. Is it normal that when I click "Edit with SP Page Builder" I only get a Front End view with SPPB's "Start Creating Page", but not the original content? Because once I save it, I cannot return (or I do not know how to return) to the original Portfolio item view (although it is still correctly set in the Portfolio extension).

Thanks and best regards,

Bernd

Hello there!

Thanks for your questions.

  1. Yes.
  2. Yes, it's normal. With the SP Page Builder editor you can design the details portion only and it will not take the contents made before with SP Simple Portfolio editor. All other staffs such as image, project URL, thumbnail, etc will come from SP Portfolio editor. If you click on the item title then you will get the SP Simple Portfolio editor still: https://prnt.sc/DqjvPJMFuRUm

Okay, thanks. But how can I get back to the original SP Portfolio view also in the front edit, i.e. get rid off the SPPB-created detail page?

Hi Bernd Zobiak,

You're welcome!

When you click on the 'edit with SP Page Builder' button then the editor opens in a new window. So if you want to get back to your original SP Portfolio edit view, then you have to go back to your previous tab where you started. If you are talking about seeing the preview of the whole details view if that specific portfolio, then you can look into your site, where you have published portfolio in a menu or module.

Dear Rashida,

I know how to see the Portfolio item in the backend, however, once the page was edited with SPPB, my webpage does not display the Portfolio page anymore, only the SPPB one. So how can I reverse it, since the content is still visible in the Portfolio backend?

Best, Bernd
