EasyStore - Demo - First Thoughts And Questions

I just can judge EasyStore from the Joomshaper product page and the template demo. So it is quite hard to get a complete picture of it. Have mercy... I might be wrong ;)

QUESTIONS:

  • Does EasyShop require SPPB ? Or does it work like any other J! extension? Does it have the usual menuitems, component views and modules?

  • SPPB integration: I had a look into the documentation and the first look video by "lightbulb webdesign". The latter one was not really helpful. So there seem to be a products list and single product view. Does it mean there is only one design for the entire prodcuts list? And one design for all single product pages? If yes, this is a very limiting restriction. Please, correct me if I am wrong. I exprected to see multiple designs. At least per category or per MenuItem. A business might offer totally different products/services. Those would need a total different appearance.

ALLURA DEMO notes & suggestions

  • FILTER On small screens this has to be collapsable. Or maybe in an off-canvas panel like the shopping cart. Otherwise, people would have to scroll all day long. Pretty unusable on a phone.

  • SHOPPING CART After putting an item into the shopping cart, it opens the cart immediately. It would be nice to have an option to just get a notice/message and stay on the current shop page. Alternative, a visual button in the shopping cart that says "keep on shopping...". Currently there is only a small close X icon in the upper right corner. Small and hidden, not speakable enough for an average user.

  • WISHLIST I could not see a wishlist functionality in the demo. Is it only for registered users?

Allure looks pretty sleek, BTW ;)

Hi there,

I appreciate you reaching out. I will try to explain about your queries step by step. I hope it will help you to understand how it works.

Does EasyShop require SPPB ? Or does it work like any other J! extension? Does it have the usual menuitems, component views and modules?

Page Builder is not required. If you use the page builde then you can design your listing page & product design using the Page Builder.

SPPB integration: I had a look into the documentation and the first look video by "lightbulb webdesign". The latter one was not really helpful. There is no multiple single page or product listing page design option. But, you can change or modify the both page.

FILTER On small screens this has to be collapsable. Or maybe in an off-canvas panel like the shopping cart. Otherwise, people would have to scroll all day long. Pretty unusable on a phone.

Share a screencast or screenshot.

It would be nice to have an option to just get a notice/message and stay on the current shop page.

Your mouse displaying a cross button.

WISHLIST

It works after login.

-Thanks

Hello again, it's benn a while ;) Sorry for my late reply. Still see same usability issues. The most important thing is the filter display on phones. Or any narrow screen that shows the stacked 1-column layout...

FILTER In my humble opinion, the filter section should be collapsable. You have a similar solution in your documentation area! Apart from a collapsed display, I could also imagine an off-canvas panel like the shopping cart. Currently, users have to scroll up-and-down all day long. Pretty unusable on a phone. The filters should be quick and easy to access... and change! Collapsed and Off-canvas panel have different pros and cons. on a phone, the off-canvas is probably more convenient and faster.

You had asked for a screenrecording... I would suggest to visit your own easystore demo! just use a phone and try the filter. browse the first results... try to adjust and change your filters... browse again to the results... it's pretty obvious whats wrong and annoying with it ;) Just imagine you have a really long filters section.
