I've tried following locations (following the logic of overrides), none of which worked:
templates/MY_TEMPLATE/sppagebuilder/assets/js/sppagebuilder.js
templates/MY_TEMPLATE/sppagebuilder/assets/sppagebuilder.js
templates/MY_TEMPLATE/sppagebuilder/sppagebuilder.js
templates/MY_TEMPLATE/js/sppagebuilder.js
So where should I place customized / modified sppagebuilder.js ?

You can use the custom javascript field within the Advanced tab of the Template Options or you can create a custom.js file within the template.

No, I need to REMOVE specific part of sppagebuilder.js, which is poorly written and breaks my modifications. So, I'm talking very specifically about components/com_sppagebuilder/assets/js/sppagebuilder.js
