Rollback After Unsuccessful Update And Error

Hello,

after an unsuccessful update from SP v3 to SP v5 and an effort to rollback I am currently in a situation that we receive an error.

The messaged states that there is a wrong type or attribute in #_sppagebuilder column checked_out_time with datatype DATETIME (file 3.17.14.sql / file 5.0.0-rc.3.sql). Message appears in Maintenance: Database.

What would be the right datatype for that column ? Or where (what directory) could I find those 2 files ?

Thx in advance for your support.

With best regards from Plochingen,

Hi Steffen,

if you decided to keep SPPB 3.8 after all, and now you have corrupted database afrer update<>downgrade (rollback), the only reasonable solution as I see it is to RECOVER website database from backup.

If you forgot to do backup (why?), ask hosting support for help. They should keep database backups for 7-10-14 days. And they can recover your database (from SPPB 3.x) in just few clicks, without extra $$.

They are differents between SPPB version db tables that's why you have problems now after rollback.

Hi Paul,

thx for your fast response.

The up-/downgrade has already happened some time ago so there is no real backup available :-(. The backup I thought to have been performed beforehand seems to be from after tne upgrade.

I have tried to set up a new installation and to copy the contents from #_sppagebuilder to the new installation site (only the contents from the text field).

As I have some professional experience with databases I would see no problem to update either the structure (if I would know the desired target design). Alternatively if the problem arises from the code side it would be very nice if you could point in the direction of the files that might cause the described problems.

Thx a lot in advance for your support.
