When i add meta description in pages / options / SEO The meta description is not showing in the page html. This is the general meta description, not the meta off the page itself. The keywords do change!

<meta name="keywords" content="santorini tickets from Crete to Santorini, Heraklion to Fira Santorini, tickets by eye travel Crete."> <meta name="description" content="Welcome to Eye Travel excursions on Crete. Specialist in private tours, jeep safari tours, Santorini, Gorge walks and more.">

The pages are not connected to a menu item, there are too many pages. Below one of the pages. https://eye-travel.gr/en/?option=com_sppagebuilder&view=page&id=60

Is there a way to edit or to add these info?

Hope to hear from you.

Hi Gijs,

Let me check on my demo first.

Links alias like "option=com_sppagebuilder&view=page&id=60" are Not SEO friendly.

I understand that you have many pages, but... it's worth to spend extra 1h on that.

I made a test and all Meta were used just from Page SEO Settings. And that page wasn't assigned to menu.

Hi Paul,

I agree with you that a page linked to a menu item is much better. And regarding SEO indeed more easy.

And when I do this, is there a way to hide this from the visible menu? As all the pages are linked from inside to other pages.

On our previous website we had all the pages on menu items, the customers got lost in the spaghetti of links, especially on mobile.

Thanks Gijs

I linked pages to the menu and set as hidden. Are the pages being indexed bij search engines?

This way could be an option.

Thanks for your answer.

As first step, add all links into website sitemap. Fo that you can use: SiteMap component or/and create sitemap.xml file - then that link must be later added to Google Search console. Then yes, links (pages) will be indexed after a while (+week). Here is screenshot from my private site, I used both extra component + file:
