**Just Purchased & Installed** Frontend Redirects To Homepage

I recently purchased and installed SP Page Builder on our Joomla test site to ensure everything functions correctly before applying it to our live site. However, after several hours of testing, I have encountered numerous issues that are preventing us from using the product as intended.

Issues Encountered

  • Frontend Editor Redirection:

When attempting to use the frontend editor, it redirects to our homepage instead of the intended page. This issue also occurs when trying to edit articles with the frontend editor.

  • Layout Bundle Issues:

When importing stock layout pages, they appear in the backend, but no images are visible. Additionally, the headers in the heading element do not change size appropriately. Screen Recording: https://app.screencast.com/aUxtsxA9c6jW4

Google Font API Errors:

Joomla Article Integration:

Integration with Joomla articles is buggy. I tried creating an article menu, assigning it to the Cassiopeia template, and opening the article using the integration, but it still redirected to the homepage. Screen Recording: https://app.screencast.com/stwXxonKN5X9i

Steps Taken

  • Template Compatibility: Switched to the default Cassiopeia template, where the frontend editor worked correctly. However, I need to retain our current JA Sensei template from Joomlart. Screen Recording: https://app.screencast.com/ceR2uChQgTNoQ

  • Disabled Extensions: Disabled 4SEF and Admin Tools to rule out conflicts, but the issue persists.

Additional Concerns

  • Backend Editor Visibility: While using the Atum backend template, adjustments made with SP Page Builder are not visible in real-time unless switched to the frontend editor.

Request for Solutions

  • Template Conflict Resolution: Is there a known conflict between SP Page Builder and the JA Sensei template? If so, what steps can be taken to resolve this without changing our default template?

  • Template-specific Page Settings: Is there a way to redirect all SP Page Builder pages to use a separate template specifically for editing purposes? If yes, please provide guidance on how to configure this.

  • Visibility of Changes: Why are changes not visible in real-time in the backend editor with the Atum template? Is this functionality restricted to the frontend editor only?

Sorry for the late reply, I was traveling, but moving forward response time will be faster. We have no issues you logging into our test-website; which is where we have been figuring out why there are issues with this software. I have added it in the "Hidden Content" in the initial question, along with the "hidden content" in this response. Please let me know, if you need anything else. Ergo, our main issue.. In order to utilize front-end editing, we need to change our default template. In our case, its JA Sensei Joomlart to a core Template "Cassiopeia". As it appears JA Sensei template does not play well with your front-end editor. Do I have this correct?

You should use google font API.

Yes, I have done this.. It seems your software has issues or maybe it doesn't. However, when some things are saved in settings, they are wiped, as if not saved, even though they were recently inputted. In this case Google Font API, and even things like Css Styling.. However, I find it strange that it will save and remain enabled for front-end editing; however a simply change for css control and once you jump back on screen its back to being the same as it was: https://app.screencast.com/oAbel7ZubT5a0 - perhaps a bug? Either way, yes to answer I did enable and entered API for Google, but sometimes it works and sometimes it just does not. Same thing happens at times with saving of license key. After a while we have to input again.

This is what I would say the main problem for us, as we were hoping SG Builder would fully-function one any template; however, this is not the case.

Another issue we found was the "Font Book". Even with our default Cassiopeia, the font book is not intalling our font kit.. Any chance this is our issue and not a whole Joomshaper problem? We have attempted to upload 5 different kits and none worked. I have sent the link of the fonts under hidden content for reference.

  1. You need to contact Joomlart support why it doesn't work. They should provide support.
  2. Can i download a backup of your site to check this issue?
  3. Font book will work after using Google font API.

Hi Toufiq,

Thank you for your prompt response. Here are my follow-ups:

1. Template Compatibility: I have identified the issue with the JA Sensei template not working well with the frontend editor. Based on my research, the T4 Framework plugin version 2.0.6 needs to be installed and configured as follows:

  • Install T4 plugin 2.0.6: T4 Framework Download
  • Navigate to Templates >> Global Settings >> Change T4 edit layout to 'Full Positions Layout' and save. This solution worked for our T4 Template but not for JA Sensei; as it uses T3 Framework; so I have not figured this one out, as of yet. Thought this might help others facing similar issues.

2. Backup Access: Thank you for asking, but we prefer not to provide a site backup at this time.

3. Google Font API: Please review this screencast (https://app.screencast.com/oAbel7ZubT5a0) showing our correct Google API usage. Despite this, fonts in the previous hidden content do not load into the font book. A screenshot from the video is available here: (https://app.screencast.com/u6352UfF9WIDa)

Additionally, I noticed the Google API visibility icon displays a different API than what we input (https://app.screencast.com/2jMhK0DlsHqMl). Why does the API keep changing? Is this a security measure? After changing the API again, the issue persists.

4. Font Installation Issue: Even with the correct Google API enabled, our installed fonts do not function. This screencast (https://app.screencast.com/NN1neaysS0RJx) shows our config settings, which allow for large uploads, ruling out config issues. Additionally, I found that if the zip file contains only one font, it might work, but it doesn't show under installed fonts. However, I did see our installed font in the front-end editor. Why must Google Fonts be enabled for other fonts to work? We need specific Microsoft fonts due to our Chinese clientele, where Google services are restricted. Please see if you can replicate this issue on your system.

5. Config Changes During Testing: While this is a test website, please ensure any config changes are reverted post-testing. We noticed some settings were altered, causing confusion.

6. Font Generator Suggestion: A suggestion: directing paid users to heavily advertised sites like "Font Squirrel Webfont Generator" leaves a negative impression. Consider updating these instructions. I found this one: https://transfonter.org to be a much better alternative.

We hope to resolve the installed font feature soon to avoid Google services, given their restrictions in China.

Regarding the recent response:

I appreciate the effort to assist, but I am quite concerned about the approach taken. We had mentioned earlier:

Backup Access: Thank you for asking, but we prefer not to provide a site backup at this time. Despite this, a copy of our website was created and placed on a staging site without our permission. This seems to indicate that our previous responses were not fully considered.

We specifically noted:

Installed SP Page Builder on our Joomla test site to ensure everything functions correctly before applying it to our live site.

This was mentioned multiple times throughout our communication.

Moreover, our specific questions and concerns were not addressed, and instead, we were directed to check the staging site.

First, please remove our website from your staging site and delete any remnants from your servers.

Second, moving forward, we have removed super-user access. We would prefer to have someone guide us through the issue rather than make changes without our consent or provide a copy of our test site without permission.

We invested significant time in providing detailed information to help identify a solution, hoping it would be appreciated. However, the brief response and actions taken were not what we requested.

Thank you for understanding, and we hope to work more closely to resolve these issues effectively.

Please accept my apologies for installing your backup on my site without your consent. I assure you that I had no intention of misusing your site. I was simply cross-checking on another server to see if it worked. After investigating your issues, I found no problems on my staging site. You should contact your hosting provider for further assistance.

Since you have already obtained a copy of our test site, would it be possible to try again, as I didn't get to test your version; so now its difficult to compare.. As I have even tried to save color librares, but they don't seem to save.. Need to know exactly what the issue is and if it is truly our hosting server configs.

If your domain name is hello.com and you've created a staging site on the same server, it can be challenging to find a solution while using the same server. Thanks for understanding.
