CSV Import Tool To Revise Existing Products

G'day,

Can you please develop the CSV import and export tool to allow for bulk product revisions.

With over a thousand products each with upto 6 different attributes and prices, it would invaluable to be able to add and adjust product specifications. Particularly with pricing as my product supplier adjusts pricing every 6 months.

Surely, this could be a quick fix based on the product's primary key. I can not be wasting time, deleting the duplicate products that the current import tool creates. I also can't delete prior products that have been purchased by clients.

@Rashida Rahman - I don't think you understood the question!

The current import routine will make DUPLICATE products each time it is run.

The original poster is asking that this be changed, by looking at the product primary key in the EasyStore database to enable existing products to be updated, not duplicated.

It is a fairly simple ask, and I doubt desperately hard to code. Maybe look for a specific secret to determin whether the products already exist on the DB or whether they're new...

Yes, I have referred to the instructions provided. However, when using the the latest version of EasyStore, I've noticed that the import tool continues to create duplicate products.

I did read in you update log (EasyStore 1.2.4 https://www.joomshaper.com/downloads/extension/easystore) and the information at the end of the instructions provided (https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/easystore/import-export-products) that the duplication of product title and alias was fixed but this continues to happen for products with variations.

As mentioned, I have over a thousand products, each with multiple nested options. I need to be able to update prices quickly. It is critical that the export / import function allows for product updates without duplicating the same product.

Hi Rashida,

I have upgraded to version 1.3.4 and yes, issue is still occuring.

I download a copy of my products, edit the CSV to update the products, export as CSV, compress the CSV with the image folder and then import into easystore. Import duplicates all products. Duplicate products have all variants active and visible.

Please find a fix for this issue.

Hi Rashida,

Ok, I've downloaded the latest version of EasyStore and the Import / Export is STILL not working.

Whenever I import an updated export, the products are no longer duplicating - ok... great! However, the product variants are still not updating at all.

When will this issue be fixed? I am becoming extremely frustrated with Joomshaper. I paid a premium fee for a working product and I've nothing but frustration waiting for advertised features to be fixed so I can create a working store. I'm six months into my membership and I'm still waiting for bug fixes for a simple import and export feature.

Please, fix this issue immediately.

Ok, I've downloaded the latest version (12-dec-24) of EasyStore and the Import / Export is STILL NOT WORKING.

It is still duplicating every product, it does not update products based on the SKU, it does not publish/hide product variants.

I am bitterly disappointed and enraged!

I purchased a subscription for Joomshaper in good faith based on your site claims and promotion. SIX MONTHS later I am still waiting for a simple and critical feature to be fixed and made available so I can get my store up and running.

I am tired of the standard copy paste response. When will this feature be fixed? When will you "follow up" and start demonstrating true customer service by addressing a customer's concern, immediately fixing features and then providing feedback on the solution's progress. You're lack of communication and transparency is frustrating to work with.

Hi, I’m Toufiq, the Support Lead at JoomShaper. Rashida is currently on maternity leave. Already, I have discuss with our developer team and they informed me if you want to upload CSV file for bulk upload then you should delete all existing products before upload CSV file. There is no alternative solution. Thanks

Ok, well this makes EasyStore unfit for my purposes. With over a thousand products and 12 variations for each product, I do not have the capacity to do this everytime I need to revise pricing or product specifications.

I would appreciate a refund so I can source an alternative ecommerce product. Sorry this has not been a viable option.

This issue has been ongoing for more than 7 months! This was only one forum issue from a number that I raised the same concern. See image below... 10 months ago I questioned this feature.

I was told the issue would be fixed, that I had to wait for the next update, and then the next update.... only to find that the import tool would not do what your advertising and feature list indicated. The fact that I am close to my expiration date is not my issue... you promised a product that never delievered. What poor customer service and representation.

At the very least, you could offer a partial refund but a "sorry about that...", you might as well say, thanks for your money sucker!

Your refund policy:

No returns/refunds will be offered for digital products except if the product you’ve purchased is:

  • Completely non-functional. <-- YES - it is not functional for the purpose you promoted it for: the export and import of bulk products.
  • And you’ve opened a support ticket on our Helpdesk but you didn't get any response in 48h (business days only). <-- YES - on many occassions, some with reply times longer than 48 hours.
  • And/or product main description was fully misleading.<-- Yes. Your advertising and product documentation indicated the import and export tool. It didn't mention that to import you need to delete every product in the store or a duplicate of the product would be made or that I would need to wait for several bug fixes
  • then you do have the option to request a refund. <--Yes. I have an option to request a refund according to your own policy.

Please consult your management structure for an alternative approach.
