Images Not Appearing On Front Page

Hi, bit of a problem.

Newsburg Template

When we upload images for articles using the Joomla core (images and links tab) they do not appear on the home page and we have to manually re-upload the image again in blog media.

We would like the use the blog media upload tab (which does appear on the front page) but on that you can only pick images from your hard drive and not choose from existing images in folders, which does not seem right as the website will have loads of duplicate images on the site.

Do you have a solution for this please?

Hello David Rogers,

I apologize for the inconvenience you’ve experienced. Could you kindly confirm that if you are using the latest version of the Newsberg template?

Additionally, I’ve reviewed the Blog Media functionality, and it appears to be working as intended. However, I understand the need for an option to upload images from existing media. I will discuss this with our team to explore the possibility of implementing this in future updates.

Thank you, Best regards,

Thanks, yet I am using the latest version. The problem is, if I use the Joomla core (Image and Links tab) to upload media the images do not appear on the home page but they appear OK on the inner pages.

I have included some logins so you can have a look.

If we can get images to appear on the front page by using the Images and Links tab (like they do on the inner pages) our problem will be solved.

Hello,

I apologize for the delay. I created a test article, and I can confirm that it’s working. However, if you are experiencing issues with a specific article, please share it with me, and I will investigate further.

Thank you!

Hi, It does not work if we use the image and links tab. We can't use the blog media upload tab because we need to use images that are already on the server and Helix Ultimate does not allow that. You have to upload a new image each time and increase the server size. Please see imaged below. If you go to the inner pages the images and links tab upload works and displays

Hello David Rogers,

I’ve reviewed your homepage, and it appears that the current design utilizes an override addon that we created to enhance the homepage’s appearance. To ensure that the images display correctly, you will need to upload them from the blog media. Please note that we do not have control over Joomla’s core images and links, and we do not provide customization services for this aspect of the design.

If you’re looking for an alternative approach, I recommend considering another addon, such as the Articles addon, and adjusting the CSS to enhance the design. However, please be aware that while this may help you achieve a more visually appealing layout, I cannot guarantee that the Articles addon will replicate the exact override addon design of our current template.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

Thank you for looking at this.

We cannot use the blog upload image button because you cannot pick images from the image folder that have already been uploaded (a fix users have been asking for since two years ago).

I really do not understand why they show fine on the inner pages but not on the home page.

For example

All the images on the inner pages show fine and are using the images links tab upload button.

Hello,

We’ve customized this article layout addon through an override to achieve a better design. To maintain control over the images in this layout, we’ve separated the images from the blog media, as the core Joomla image and link settings are beyond our control. Therefore, to retain this design, you’ll need to upload the images via the blog media.

Alternatively, for this particular design, you can use another addon like the Articles addon instead of the article layout addon.

I hope this clarifies the situation. Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

Ok thanks but that still does not explain why the inner pages work fine with this method but not the front page.

I will look at employing a coder to try and sort this issue out as we have invested far too much time and money into it at this stage.

There is no way we can use the blog media upload button as we publish hundreds of articles a month and cannot expect the contributors to upload a new image each time they post an article as our server size will be massive. In my opinion the fact you cannot use images that are already on the server via the blog uplaod button is a major flaw with the template which has been mentioned numerous times on the forum before.

Thank you for the reply.

Does the articles addon give the same layout as the template? (which is the reason we bought it) Had a quick look and can't see that it does.

Also, as stated, we cannot use the blog media upload as we will end up with thousands of duplicate images as we cannot pick images already uploaded in the media directory.

Hello,

The Article addon includes all the functionality of the Article layout. However, the design will not be exactly the same. With some adjustments to the CSS, you can achieve a design that is quite similar, though not identical.

Thank you.
