Hello, in Helix Ultimate that I love, I miss two things: Dark mode and the click menu. Do you think you can improve and do you have the codes to realize these two very missing points? Thanks for your help.

Hi there!

Thanks for your query.

The magnin template is based on the Helix Ultimate framework, where you will have the dark and light mode switcher.

Here is the documentation link of the magnin template:

Would you please explain about the click menu? Example will be better to have too.

Best Regards

Thank you, I will look at how the dark mode works with the Magnin template. But I have a doubt about the functioning of Helix Ultimate for native Joomla pages. For the menu, you can see how it works on click with the native Cassiopeia template of Joomla or with the Astroid template. Here is the link: https://astroid.joomnet.fr/index.php/blog/blog-list It is very important for accessibility to have a menu that expands on click. Thank you for your help. These two functions should be developed in Helix Ultimate.

Hi.

  1. About Dark mode, the best way is enable Joomla Accessibility plugin (or alternative), it has Dark-Light mode already. Besides other useful features (font-size etc).
  2. Yes, other Menu changes are planned for Helix Ultimate. They are on the wish-list already.

For accessibility the more important is keyboard navigation, not click itself. I checked that topic deeper.

About dark-light mode switcher - we can consider that as well. But for me, improved menu code has higher piority.

Thanks for your idea of the Joomla accessibility button! But it is not easy to find for a person who wants to have the dark mode or function of the brightness state of the browser. For the menu, I have more and more users who want the browser to stay open when they click on it. And they do not use the keyboard to move the mouse.

And they do not use the keyboard to move the mouse.

I talked about using navigation in Main Menu using keyboard (Tab key etc), this is requested by Accessibility law regulations in EU and US. Whether the customer wants to or not is irrelevant, this is the legal requirement, especially for government & community services sites.

But I agree, that click to open submenu may be needed in some cases. I will ask about that too. I know Astriod framework. Thanks, we will be in touch. Ping me at the middle of month.

Hello, do you have any feedback on the possibility of click-through navigation? This is starting to become a priority in my design choices. The day/night function is also a highly requested feature. Thank you for your help.

It's a real shame... I've been using Helix Ultimate for years and I'm stuck on two requests that are now almost mandatory. I don't want to redo my sites with T4 or Astroid...
