All Joomla Core Modules uses images from "Images & Links" tab, they cannot see images from Helix tab "Blog Media".

Remember that we are not responsible for whether the default modules have the required functionalities.

UPDATE

By default, the Joomla module "Articles - Category" does not display article images at all. You can also test this on the Casiopea template. It means that you have to find & install an extra news module that allows it. For example, check those:
