Joomla 5.2.3 Update Broke My (custom) Menu

Hi, I am working on a website based on Helix ultimate template. I was on joomla version 5.2.2 and al was looking good. Then I saw that a new Joomla update (5.2.3) was available. I updated to it and now my menu has disappeared.
I just also noted somthing else. Which i do not know what is best practice.... The template I am using for the website is a copy of the original helix ultimate that i have renamed and modied through "custom.css" However i am seeing now a difference in version...... HelixUltimate is at version: 2.1.1 -- whereas my copied veersion is at 2.0.17 But for both of the templates, I see that the Joomla update has changed some files
