Can't Link A Button To A Image (jpg, Png)

Right now I can only upload and link a PDF, but i swear in the version3 we could link to jpgs and pngs as everyone is using Canva now and by default Canva exports all flyers as png.

How do I use a button and which one is best to use to link to a image vs pdf?

thanks

Hi,

you can put link to selected file, even .png or .jpg using manual link field.

Maybe you should try Modal addon, it allows you to link to image or video or text.

Thanks Paul for the Modal idea but I really need the image link to open up in a new tab so they can print the flyer. Right now it's just a pop up and users can print it.

I really need a way for my clients to be able to link a button to a jpg/png that opens up in new tab so they can print it. Right now all the buttons seem to only be able to link to a PDF easily and not images.

It will be very difficult for my clients to go to media manager on backend, upload a jpg, grab the url path and copy it. Then go back to page builder and paste it in.

Any other ideas would be great.

Thanks

As first step, I will check how Image addon worked in SPPB 3.8, moment.

Indeed, it was possible link to image.

In SPPB 5.4.x Image addon - set that using URL and "blue cloud" icon.

then after somebody click main image, in the new window tab he/she will get "bigger" (chosen) image that can be saved on laptop and used for print etc. So person see a thumbnail and have access to big photo. I think it's a pretty reasonable solution and better than a simple button.

Tested, works. Do not use "Open in Lightbox" !

Paul, thanks for the quick reply and I am trying the basic Button Add On and it only allows me to link to a PDF. I can upload an image but it's grayed out. Almost like it's a permission issue with that add on button not allowing certain file extensions to tag to.

I am using SPPB 5.4.4 which I did run lok for latest updates and it doesn't show 5.4.5 version available to update which is the version in your screen shot.

Is sppb 5.4.5 in beta?

Im also using joomla 5.2.3 In the hidden content, I pasted in a link to a screen share video of me showing you the issue.

Thanks for all your help and let me know if it's an issue with version 5.4.4 and fixed in 5.4.5 or something else.

Search image from "Image" tab , not "Attchament". And yes, image must be uploaded in "Image" area. Attchment folder is only for files like pdf etc.
