EDIT - This error is to do with the SEF URL Rewriting no longer working - how can I fix this to make it work again and remove the index.php from the URL's?

Hi,

I am having issues with the front end editor giving me an Error 404 after installing and uninstalling JCH Optimize.

These are the following things that I did, and now my page seems to be giving me 404 errors on all my pages!

I do not know what to do please help, this is what I did.

Went to manage extensions, typed in 'JCH' then uninstalled all JCH related extension files.

How can I fix this??

EDIT - Found the problem - it was that JCH Optimize had created another HT Access file which was acting as the primary HT Access file. I have since deleted that and renamed the original htaccess file and it is now working :)

Hi,

I have a backup available from before I installed JCH optimize, is there any way I can fix this without reverting to a different backup - it seems quite a long process.

Hi Scott.

In general JCH Optimize shouldn't touch Joomla SEF. But it somehow it did or broke something, maybe... ask your hosting provider to recover site database from the day when all was OK, I guess it was yesterday?

BTW

About files, maybe recover .htaccess file from yesterday (or last week version), do it as 1st recovery step!! And check again. Why? becuase JCH change it as well.
